Some monsters on Tikor are too nasty to take on face to face. Meet the Ida “Barrage”, a walking weapons platform that gets the job done from a distance the enemy can’t detect.

The Full Barrage

The latest in the Ida mech line is here! The Ida “Barrage“, a long-distance destroyer and walking weapons platform. You’ve seen the previous one, the Ida “Sabertooth”, the first Ida but not the only one.

The Barrage in comparison to the first Ida is all about distance and overwhelming damage from afar. Monsters and hostile creatures come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, and some of them are best dealt with at range. It’s best to have options, right?

Ida Barrage Armaments

The Barrage is jam-packed with weapons and ordnance, each serving a different purpose.

The biggest weapon on the Barrage is the miniature MXR Railgun, a smaller version of the massive railgun system that the Matan R-2 uses. It’s affixed on the back of the Barrage and can slide up and fire at any target in front of it. The railgun can also be released from the back and used by hand.

Over the left shoulder sits the 4 tube JAVELIN system that fires spears of a type of ordnance known as heavy plasma. It’s a similar principle to a railgun but uses no physical projectiles. Instead, the weapon concentrates a slag of plasma and fires at incredibly high speeds.

On the right shoulder track sits an 8 chamber medium-range rocket system. It’s one of the few physical-based weapons that the Barrage carries. It tends to be used as defense rather than offense because of this. These high impact rockets are perfect for enemies that try to rush the Barrage.

The real danger however is the dual OC-1 Plasma Railguns affixed to each shoulder. The range of motion of being on the shoulder allows these automated cannons to fire in all directions, letting the Barrage cover a total 360 area around them. They take a moment to gain their initial charge, but once they’re ready, these plasma railguns are unrivaled.
