The source of Hawklore's wealth largely sits in one place. The Blue Hollow. What does this inlet Azurean mine look like?

The Blue Hollow is one of the biggest Azurean mines in the world, and the largest, well only, Azurean mine on land. This rare phenomenon is what is responsible for the bulk of Hawklore's wealth.

The crystal fuel, Azurean, normally only grows in water. And not just touching it, submerged in it. Not any kind of water will do either. For the process to truly work it seems to need the fresh salient water of the sea.

The Blue Hollow is special in that a narrow channel restricts the flow of water through the inlet, with the water levels naturally lowering as it comes inside. It all leads into a massive crater, filled to the brim with Azurean.

Over the eons, Hawken has had the Hollow steady drained until finally, they were able to mine inside the gigantic hole. Some say it was the ultimate stroke of luck. Others say it was Hawken's plan all along when he founded the nation.
