A Barrage of Color

Story Highlights

The color concept comes into view on the Ida “Barrage” mech. What does the first swipe of color look like for this long-range destroyer? Awesome, that's what. Let's take a look at this the newest step toward the finish illustration, the color concept!

The Ida Barrage Color Concept

This is what Enmanuel Martinez had to say about the color concept for the Ida Barrage.

Hey Brandon, here’s the current stage of the barrage, I’m not done with the colors, but I wanted to know if you like the current direction before I keep going. Still, a lot to go on this.

Even with a lot to go the Barrage is looking awesome! One of the things I wanted with the color was to go with a more Afrocentric color scheme. Western mechs tend to be very monochrome with a lot of steel, grey, and black.

I asked Enmanuel to go with the kinds of reds, orange, and yellows that you see in clothing and buildings in West Africa. I knew it would make for a nice look and I'm pleased to see how right I was!

The next one is the final one and I can't wait!
