The Swordsfall universe has many protectors, but one stands above them all. The vaulted of them all, the Celestial Shields. Come see the first sketches of these legendary guardians!
I'm not gonna lie, this one of the professions that makes me the most excited. Celestial Shields were the first profession I really visualized in Swordsfall. Protectors of the people, but trained not just in fighting but in knowledge.
I wanted every single one of them to have the look of someone who can fight with words or the shield. Protect, is protect. Whether it be mind or body.
Tumo Mere really nailed it with the look of them in this initial sketch. At the top, you have a Prime Shield, the most veteran of Shields. You can see how Tumo took what would be a cowl and infused that organic style that we've been about.
Then at the bottom, you have the two other sides of a shield, the young and the old. On the left, you have a young recruit, full of passion and justice. Eyes just burning.
And finally, on the right you have the “old-timer”. The one who's seen things, places and lived to tell the tale. The fire still burns in them, but they're a bit calmer, more exacting.
